Swimming

Nothing is more refreshing on a hot summer’s day than jumping into the cool waters of a refreshing lake. It’s even more fun if the lake has a supervised beach with many other activities available to enhance this great outdoor experience!

Where can I take a dip?

Swimming is available at the following Conservation Halton parks:

Kelso Conservation Area

Sandy beach-Change rooms and Lockers Available

Water Quality

The Kelso beach has been closed only twice - very briefly - due to unacceptable water test results since 1996. This is due primarily to improvements to area septic systems and also the installation of a bird screen in the beach area.

If the beach were to close as a result of an unacceptable water result from the health department, a notice would be posted here immediately.

For more information call Kelso's recorded message at 905.878.5011

Environmental Ethics and Swimming Safety

NO pets are permitted past the stairs leading to the beach area!

Kelso is a recreation and natural environment park that can be enjoyed during all seasons. Visitors can help keep the park clean and safe by not littering and swimming in the designated area only. Even though the beach is supervised with qualified life guards during the summer, it is important that parents watch their children at all times while playing in the water. Groups must also report to the head lifeguard upon arrival at the beach area
