Police Record Checks

Getting a PRC

You will need to go to your local police force and request a criminal record check (non-vulnerable sector screening). Addresses and contact information for local police forces are located below.  The costs and requirements vary.  Please contact your local force for specific application requirements.

Areas without a municipal police force
(i.e. OPP is the local police)
Go to your local OPP branch (for a listing click on http://www.opp.ca/organization/english/regions.htm) and ask for a police background check.

After you’ve received your PRC
Once you have been hired, give an original copy of your PRC (and receipt) to your supervisor.  If you require the original copy returned please advise your supervisor; it will be returned to you after it has been reviewed.
